One of the first things that we noticed when the Innokin Lily first arrived at our door by mail was the fact that it looks much better in person than it does through photos on the internet. These photos simply are not able to convey just how attractive this device is and how wonderfully made it is. It actually feels more like a luxury pen than it does an e-cig device, making it perfect for women.
The product will arrive wrapped securely so that you can be certain it will not be damaged. And, to go with the name of the device, it will even arrive in a lovely box that has lilies sketched on it. Overall, the design of the box that holds this device – from the Innokin logo and “Lily” written in cursive, to the purple lines designed to look like ribbon on a gift box – makes a great first impression.
Once you open the box, you will find that even the user manual matches the décor of the box itself. It is perfectly feminine and pretty in appearance, as well as practical, of course. And the device itself is modern looking and chic. In fact, one of the first things we noticed was the fact that the Innokin Lily is manufactured with Swarovski crystals adorning the metal band found in the centre of the device’s battery.
The top half of the Lily actually looks a lot like a pen, and you can choose from a variety of colours to suit your preferences. You will also find a second top-half to the device in a matching colour but without the crystals, just in case you need it.
This device features a 350mAh battery in a matte black colour that also features the feminine lily design. In fact, the top of the battery actually lights up, allowing this light to softly shine through the device’s clear dome.
Finally, the drip tip, which is removable to be cleaned or swapped for a different type of tip altogether, fits nicely and snugly on the device so that you do not need to worry about it coming off accidentally.
Giving It a Test Run
Innokin states that this device will probably only get around 70 to 90 puffs from each full cartridge, and we found that to be true when we gave it a test run. After all, unlike other e-cig devices out there, you can’t fit 3ml to 4ml of e-liquid in this device. In fact, we are guessing that it can really only hold maybe around 0.8ml of e-liquid. So if you like to vape a lot, you will find yourself continually refilling the cartridge, and this can get annoying very quickly.
The size of the cartridge and the atomiser are roughly the same, and you receive five atomisers and 5 cartridges. Also, the atomiser and the cartridge are proprietary, so you will not be able to swap them out for any others. But you probably would not want to do so anyway because the voltage and ohms are matched to provide the best performance for this particular product.
The atomiser features a resistance of 1.5ohms, and the unregulated battery starts at 3.5v when fully charged, but the output drops to around 3.2v or 3.1v once you begin using the device. So, while we found that the Lily will outperform standard cig-a-likes and disposables on the market, you should not expect it to perform like the big cloud producers out there.
You will not be getting massive vapour clouds or be able to take long pulls from it, but it does the job, it looks fantastic, and it can make the perfect gift.
